I have had such a good weekend.
Fi drove down from Bristol on Friday night before I started my shift at 10pm. It was so great to see her. She arrived here around 6pm and we had a nice Chinese take out which was pretty reasonable (hardly any grease at all!). Friday evening was crazy – had so many drunks rock up either having been assaulted or having injured themselves assaulting someone else!
Crawled back into bed with Fi around 6:15am and managed a good 5 hours sleep. We drove down to Brixham in the afternoon and had some fish ‘n chips by the seaside – tacky but I like it!
Saturday night was harsh because I was already a little sleep deprived having only had 5 hours sleep and then had to work from 6pm ’til 6am. It was even busier than Friday night, not only was there more than our fair share of drunks but we had 5 major traumas come in, including a rather unfotunate chap who (amongst a lot of other things) had a bilateral testicular dislocation – probably not how he saw his Saturday panning out!.
Had a great day Sunday, Kazeem agreed to swap shifts with me so I didn’t have to go to work until 8pm which meant I could actually have a proper afternoon with Fiona. We spent our time at Paignton Zoo which was really cool. They have a great selection of Primates including Gorillas, Orangutans and Baboons as well as Tigers, Cheetahs and loads of other animals. As soon as I figure out the best way to display photos in my blog I’ll upload some of the snaps I took.
Sadly, Sunday evening came and Fi had to go back to Bristol. I absolutely hate this part – when we have to say goodbye. It always breaks my heart. The best thing is though is that tonight is my last night! This means I get to go to Bristol tomorrow, yay! I can’t wait. Thinking of spending all that time with Fiona is going to put a spring in my step all evening!
