It would be an understatement to say that 2008 has been a busy year. I thought I’d just make a brief list of what I’ve been up to over the last 12 months
Australia
- Continued to work in the Emergency Department at Flinders
- Been to Melbourne (twice)
- Did the Great Ocean Road with Anit
- Went to Sydney for the first time and watched a ballet at the Sydney Opera House
- Snorkelled over the Great Barrier Reef
- Went jet-skiing for the first time in Queensland
- Toured the famous wine regions of South Australia (the Coonawarra, the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills and McClaren Vale)
- Visited Perth for the first time
- Carried on surfing and learned to boogie board
- Had my first BBQ Christmas
Personal Life
- Married Fiona (Best. Day. Ever!)
- Took up photography as a hobby and found out I’m not too bad at it. Discovered I enjoy wildlife and nightscape photography
- Finally learned a decent amount of HTML and CSS
- Made some money from programming. That’s one of my life goals believe it or not!
- Got back into contact with a number of old friends (Andy, Steph, etc). Thanks Facebook!
- Discovered Heroes
Health
- Dealt with both Fi’s Mum and Aunt being diagnosed with breast cancer
- Fiona’s diagnosis of melanoma in situ
- My diagnosis of cluster headaches
Work
- 1. Did an ultrasound course
- 2. Saw a lot patients
- 3. Made the (joint) decision to return to the UK in the New Year to start our careers
This is by no means exhaustive but it’s nice to see that I haven’t been idle all year!
