It would be an understatement to say that 2008 has been a busy year. I thought I’d just make a brief list of what I’ve been up to over the last 12 months

Australia

  1. Continued to work in the Emergency Department at Flinders
  2. Been to Melbourne (twice)
  3. Did the Great Ocean Road with Anit
  4. Went to Sydney for the first time and watched a ballet at the Sydney Opera House
  5. Snorkelled over the Great Barrier Reef
  6. Went jet-skiing for the first time in Queensland
  7. Toured the famous wine regions of South Australia (the Coonawarra, the Barossa Valley, the Adelaide Hills and McClaren Vale)
  8. Visited Perth for the first time
  9. Carried on surfing and learned to boogie board
  10. Had my first BBQ Christmas

Personal Life

  1. Married Fiona (Best. Day. Ever!)
  2. Took up photography as a hobby and found out I’m not too bad at it. Discovered I enjoy wildlife and nightscape photography
  3. Finally learned a decent amount of HTML and CSS
  4. Made some money from programming. That’s one of my life goals believe it or not!
  5. Got back into contact with a number of old friends (Andy, Steph, etc). Thanks Facebook!
  6. Discovered Heroes

Health

  1. Dealt with both Fi’s Mum and Aunt being diagnosed with breast cancer
  2. Fiona’s diagnosis of melanoma in situ
  3. My diagnosis of cluster headaches

Work

  1. 1. Did an ultrasound course
  2. 2. Saw a lot patients
  3. 3. Made the (joint) decision to return to the UK in the New Year to start our careers

This is by no means exhaustive but it’s nice to see that I haven’t been idle all year!
